Isn’t it treacherous?

Isn’t it treacherous?

Sometimes when my heart is weeping,

Yet my face is smiling,

I think, “Isn’t it treacherous,

How one thing I am inside,

And one thing outside?”

Heart sheds tears,

Through my body, share it does, in the form of blood,

Yet my lips are in a forced,

Upturned smile.

My heart frowns,

It mutters, grumbles, pounds,

Yet my face is neutral,

No emotion it shows.

Ponders my mind over this,

Refusal my heart chooses to accept even as I say,

“Isn’t it treacherous,

How I am one thing inside,

And one thing outside?”
