Where does my heart lay?

th_1_-3

Where does my heart lay?

The pulse beating in my heart,

The dangers lurking in my mind,

The suspense in my thoughts,

The terror in my eyes.

The falling of the waves,

The beating of the hammer,

The drumming of the cans,

And the swishing of the ocean.

The dark alleys in the city,

The city lights shining at night,

The cars whizzing by every time,

And the thumping of the people down the path.

The serene sight of the lush meadows,

The quiet ushering of the horses,

The starry, night sky visible down deep,

The hand that clings to peace.

Oh tell me, O serene star,

Where does my heart lay?

In the preceding of the ocean,

Or in the wave of noises,

Or in the bulb and smile of peace?
